One of the advantages of studying in the UK is that you can work for up to 20 hours per week during term time and full time when you’re on holidays.
If you study in the UK, as an international student who has completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree you are allowed to get a Graduate Route visa (also known as Post-study work visa) that is valid for 2 years, and if a student has completed a Ph.D., it’s valid for 3 years. The validity of the visa is non-extendable, but being an international student you are allowed to apply for a different visa such as a Skilled Worker visa if your Graduate route visa expires.
To apply for a Graduate route visa one must hold a Student visa or Tier 4 (General) student visa and the applicant must be in the UK when applying for the visa. You’ll need to pay the visa application fee that is usually £700 in addition to the healthcare surcharge of £624 for each year you will be staying in the UK.

The average cost of living in the UK for international students is around £10,000 – £15,000 per year. However, income from work will help to reduce your expenses while studying in the UK as you can work part-time during the semester for 20 hours per week and work full-time during semester break.
Students who study in the UK and wish to take up part-time jobs while pursuing their degree can work up to 20 hours per week during term time and full time on holidays. Though most of the universities in the UK expect students to provide IELTS test scores to be eligible, it is not mandatory in a few institutions.
